Employee Turnover

Why the need to calculate turnover?

Calculating employee turnover will:

  • Identify trends and allow you to address them e.g. changing particular policies to improve retention;
  • Allow you to forecast (including budgeting) for the future

Employers will often not fully appreciate that turnover has a significant impact on an organisation and this needs to be measured.
In one survey over half the respondents felt that turnover had only a minor negative effect on organisational performance.
