Dealing with employees on Long Term Absence is challenging for employers, however, regular contact with absent employees by phone or in person can have the effect that workers are encouraged to return to work more quickly.  It can also demonstrate that they have not been 'forgotten', and reduce any feelings of isolation from the workplace.
